July 25

Today was a fun day at the Big Pit museum in the morning. The Big Pit is a museum of a coal mine in Wales. The students had the opportunity to become miners for a bit, hard hats and all they went 15meters down, got to walk around with a professional miner, and see just what it takes to be a coal miner. They were also able to explore the exhibits in the museum including the locker rooms and showers that the miners would have used. It was a very eye opening experience to see a completely different life then one we are used to. :)

Students were given a warm welcome in Hereford. Mayor Toon gave them the royal treatment. This included a trip to the vault to see historic documents.

Another full day was spent in the city. Delegates watched the changing of the guards, dined with Henry the VIII, and took a trip through the Tower of London.

Delegates met with Patrick Nichols a former member of Parliament.
